Obehi's remarkable journey began in Nigeria and soon led her to the United States, shaping her into a passionate advocate for transformative healthcare and community empowerment.
Her personal experiences with her mother's health challenges and misdiagnoses in Nigeria ignited a profound realization that her homeland required a healthcare system dedicated to improving the well-being of its people. Currently, Obehi serves as the State's Lead Project Coordinator for the distribution of HIV Home Test Kits, holding the role of HIV Home Testing Program Coordinator.
Obehi's academic journey is a testament to her commitment to public health. She holds a Masters in Public Health, specializing in Environmental Health and Global Health, with a particular focus on Water Quality. Her global health experience includes conducting research with the Safe Water and AIDS Project (SWAP) in Western Kenya, aimed at providing clean and accessible water to remote areas, thus enhancing public health outcomes.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Obehi actively engages with the Adegrange Child Foundation as a Content Creator, channeling her passion for public health issues into meaningful initiatives. She is also deeply involved in volunteer activities aimed at benefiting communities and raising awareness about critical health concerns.
Obehi's future aspirations reflect her unwavering commitment to making a lasting impact. She envisions establishing a public health consulting firm in Nigeria, fostering collaboration with communities to ensure access to clean, safe water, and providing support to motherless children and widows. Her dedication extends to mentoring and guiding youths across Africa, addressing their self-development and health-related challenges.
While Obehi's personal vision is rooted in the belief that "Life without God is nothing," she approaches her advocacy with humility and respect. She seeks not to impose her beliefs on others but rather aims to be a genuine advocate for those whose voices often go unheard. Her deep connection with the Adegrange Child Foundation stems from her shared goal of amplifying marginalized voices and making their stories resonate without stigma or bias.
Obehi draws inspiration from her parents, who serve as her mentors and best advocates. Their unwavering commitment to helping those in need and their humility are qualities she aspires to emulate and build upon.
In the words of Maya Angelou, "Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." Obehi embodies this philosophy as she forges ahead on her path to effecting positive change, one community at a time. Her journey is marked by an unyielding dedication to healthcare, empowerment, and the pursuit of a better tomorrow for all.
